Ellen O'Connor


Ellen O'Connor,
or Ellen Connor, born 1793.

Her aunt Mary O'Connell married in 1802 to Daniel O'Connell ("The Liberator").
Even though very young, only age 14-15, in 1807-1808 she is found in [Correspondence of Daniel O'Connell] writing to her aunt and uncle keeping them informed about the O'Connor family.
She and her siblings were orphaned in 1819.
In 1821 she was engaged to William J. Neligan, attorney, Tralee. However they did not marry.
She is living Denny St, Tralee, as at 1837 and 1845 [Correspondence of Daniel O'Connell].

Illness and death, 1856-1859:
Death notice says she died in 1859 "after three years of great and continued suffering".
She died unmarried at 70 Charlemont St, Dublin, 22 Dec 1859, age 66 yrs.
